Ronny Deila claims that winning the Scottish Premier League title this season would be one of his greatest achievements in the game.
This claim will come as a shocking surprise to Celtic supporters, who have been disgruntled with the Norwegian for quite a while. Celtic’s inability to dominate the Premier League at a time when they do not have competition from Rangers is a massive source behind the discontent. The club has also fared poorly in the cup competitions. However, Celtic have been retaining Deila as their manager for the time being.
The club moved four points ahead of second placed Aberdeen following a narrow 1-0 win against Kilmarnock. Even though this was not the kind of performance that fans would have been hoping from the team, it at least kept them in control of the league title. Celtic have a game in hand and could stretch this advantage to 7 points. The club has to win the next couple of league meetings with teams like Heart of Midlothian and Motherwell before they start thinking about the Scottish cup semi-final meeting with archrivals Rangers.
