EPL CLUBS WANT ROMA SHOT STOPPER

AS Roma shot stopper Pau Lopez is attracting interest from a number of clubs in the EPL. According to a report from Spanish tabloid Estadio Deportivo claims, the likes of Chelsea, West Ham and former club Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in the player.

The players have also shown interest in moving back to the Premier League. Lopez made a big-money move to Roma last summer after impressing at Spanish side Real Betis. But he has done enough in the past twelve months to attract interest from English topflight.

West Ham lead the race for the player. They have sent representatives to watch the player’s performance. The club is impressed by the report submitted, and they are most likely to make an approach for the player during the next transfer window.

Lopez is also attracting interest from Russia Premier League outfit Spartak Moscow. The Russia side are ready to make a move for the shot stopper during the summer.

Although the Spaniard has endured an indifferent season at Roma with his performances yet to be excellent amid a spate of injuries. The 25-year-old is currently injured with a fractured wrist, but this has not stopped clubs across Europe from monitoring his situation.

Tottenham are in search of a replacement for club captain Hugo Lloris and they have identified him as the long-term replacement for the world cup winner. Lopez fits the bill for the London club. It is understood that Roma would be willing to do business for around £36m which would represent a handy profit for the Italian club who signed the player for €23 million last summer.

Roma are also in the market for a new shot stopper. They are ready to submit a loan approach for Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
